Island Park

If you’re looking for adventure, Island Park is the place to go!

As the name suggests, Island Park features several “islands” situated amongst various play equipment and draws inspiration from the beautiful Moreton Bay region.

Perfect for active children who love being outdoors, this park consists of a hammock swing, climbing net and spinners. There are also several open and enclosed tunnel slides of varying heights that will provide much enjoyment for all ages.

Islands connected by bridges and rope swing “vines”

Balancing and suspension bridges connect the “islands” lending to hours of imaginative play and children can swing from rock to rock via rope swing “vines”. The addition of sand surrounding the playground enhances this beach themed vibe.

Island Park is not just for younger children. Older children are well catered for with a full-sized beach volleyball court and a large, open grassed area perfect for a number of kickabout ball games.

Large shade sails protect play spaces and covered areas with seating. Well established trees and an abundance of greenery add to the lusciousness of this playground setting. Why not host your child’s next birthday party here or make a day of it and invite family and friends for a picnic or barbeque?  Tables, benches, a water fountain and electric BBQs make for a perfect day out in the sunshine.

When visiting Island Park remember to pack the scooters and bicycles as children will love zooming around on the flat paths that border the area.

The nearest café to the park is Mummy’s Café which is located at the entry point to Nirimba. Treat yourself to a delicious coffee and tasty bite to eat before heading to Island Park where you can sit and relax on one of many benches whilst watching your little adventurer get lost in an imaginative world of pirates, treasure and paradise islands.

Island Park forms part of the ever-growing Aura park trail – a network of uniquely themed interconnected parks located throughout the community; and fulfils our vision to have a park within 400 metres of every home.
