Family Friendly, Get Active

Aura Sports Park Highlight

From parks and playgrounds through to open green spaces and kilometres of cycle paths, outdoor recreation is part of everyday life at Aura!

As our vibrant community continues to grow, so too does its impressive network of places to get outdoors, get active and connect with the community.

From football and rugby league to AFL, cricket, netball, tennis and pickleball, Baringa and Nirimba are home to four sporting facilities offering plenty of ways to get involved. Together, they form part of Aura’s growing network of sporting and recreation spaces, which on completion will include 10 sporting grounds across 70 hectares and more than 200 kilometres of connected walking and cycling paths.

Nirimba Sports Complex

From Saturday morning netball to weekend cricket and rugby league, Nirimba Sports Complex is a place where Aura’s community can come together through sport.

Set across four hectares, the precinct offers two full-size cricket ovals with practice nets, along with four netball courts where the Aura Netball Club trains and competes. The adjoining Nirimba Rugby League Grounds feature two full-size NRL fields and are home to the Nirimba Hurricanes, Aura’s first senior rugby league team, as well as the Spartans American football team.

A clubhouse and canteen complete the precinct, giving players, families and supporters a place to relax, refuel and celebrate after the final whistle.

Baringa Sports Complex

Whether you’re kicking a footy, picking up a tennis racquet or giving pickleball a go for the first time, there’s always something happening at Baringa Sports Complex!

Spanning 7.5 hectares, the precinct is home to two AFL ovals where the Caloundra Panthers train and play, while eight tennis courts and four pickleball courts offer plenty of opportunities to get active. The tennis and pickleball courts are available to hire, with coaching also on offer for anyone keen to learn a new sport or sharpen their racquet skills.

Equipped with a clubhouse and canteen on site, it’s just as much a place to catch up with friends and cheer from the sidelines as it is to get out and play, making it a popular sporting hub for the Aura community.

Nirimba Rugby League Grounds

Nirimba Rugby League Grounds

The precinct also includes a clubhouse, creating a place for players, supporters and the wider community to come together both on and off the field.

From training sessions to game day, the grounds add another dedicated sporting destination to Aura’s growing network of places to get active, cheer from the sidelines and connect with the local community.

Baringa Football Grounds
